Giselle Diaz a 19-year-old Dominican who has many goals that she would love to accomplish in the future. She attended Life Academy High School for Film and Music.  There she discovered her passion for film, at the age of 17 she attended Reel Works and graduated in Spring 2011.  In Reel Works she joined Reel Works Productions, The Junior Advisory Board and The Master Lab.  In addition, she became a Tribeca Film Fellow in 2011, where she learned how to network and pitch her story.  Now she’s attending Kingsborough Community College and is studying Broadcasting Media.  She wants to be able to make one of the best hit movies and be well known for her filmmaking talents.  She also wants to inspire and move people through her filmmaking. .

GISELLE’S FILM SYNOPSIS /
Coping with a parent who has cancer is tough. For filmmaker Giselle Diaz, making this film was a way to understand, cope, and bring her family together while dealing with her father’s condition.

GISELLE’S BRIEF DIRECTORS STATEMENT /
I was in the process of coping with my father’s cancer and I thought that making a film about the experience would be therapeutic for my family and I. My dad is my inspiration – if he could be brave and positive in the face of this – I could surely make a film.
